The Youth Culture and Cell Phones
Cell phones are becoming to today's youth what rock and roll was to the youth in the 1960's. Approximately 80% of all teenagers have cell phones worldwide, and have developed their own language and social groups away from the prying eyes of their parents.
In Japan, teenagers are obsessed with their cell phones. Some experts estimate that 96% of all Japanese children will have cell phones by the time they reach high school. One study shows that these kids spent between 90 and 125 minutes every day on their phones, using them to read books, chat with friends, surf the Net, or listen to music. Many experts suggest that these youngsters are using these cell phones for security, as the amount of usage went up with children that were having problems at home.
American children have been using cell phones to form friendships and social groups away from their families, feeling that these phones ensured them privacy that they would not otherwise have. While some children still talk to their parents, many more prefer to communicate with them through text messaging so that the children do not have to answer any questions that they do not want to. This also creates the problem of children misunderstanding their parent's mood because plain text messaging does not show the difference between sarcasm and anger. As cell phone use becomes even more widespread (some experts estimate that by 2010, 81% of Americans between the ages of 5 and 24 will own a cell phone), communication between parents and their kids may become even more impersonal.
Another problem with today's kids being obsessed with cell phones is the fact that some children admit to texting while they are driving. While some states have outlawed talking on a cell phone while being behind the wheel, it may be interesting to see how the government deals with the act of sending messages while driving. After all, the driver can keep the phone out of sight as he text messages.
A serious issue concerning youth and cell phones came to light in a survey of college students. Of 305 of these students, 40% of cell phone users admitted that they walked somewhere after dark that they would have never went before they had their cell phones.
Essential Cell Phone Accessories
Nowadays, everyone has a cell phone. It's as ubiquitous an accessory as purses or backpacks. Cell phones are now as essential to carry with you as keys, wallets or even money. Whether to communicate with your workplace for business reasons, to stay in touch with family or a myriad of other reasons, cell phones are simply an essential part of our daily lives. There are a number of accessories available to improve or enhance your cell phone experience, let's look at some of the essentials.
Case
Just about every cell phone should also have a matching case. A case will protect your phone from dirt, dust, minor spills or light rain and even offer some protection from drops and bumps. Your cell phone should last longer if you have a case on it, so it's also a practical accessory.
Car Charger
Pretty much everyone who has a car and a cell phone uses them together, right? So it makes sense to purchase a special charger just for use in your car. A car charger will protect against any charge loss but also provide additional charging power for when you leave your car.
Headset
A wireless headset is another essential accessory. A headset will allow you to talk without having to use your hands. It's safer for when you're driving but can also be handy for when you're walking somewhere or doing something that requires both your hands. There are also special hands-free units available specifically for use in your car.
Emergency Charger
An emergency charger is available in two types currently. One is a hand cranked model, where you turn a knob for a few minutes to generate power for a few minutes of cell phone use. The other is a battery powered model, which requires an AA battery. Both are good options to keep in your car, purse or on your person in case you get stuck somewhere with your car broken down or are somewhere where you have no outlet available to charge your phone. Just remember that with the battery powered model, you need to make sure the battery you carry with you is fresh or you'll need to carry extra batteries. In this case, the hand crank charger may be a better option for most people, since everyone has the ability to crank the charger and, in theory, you should be able to crank the charger to use the phone for as long as you need to. Also, needing batteries to charge your cell phone incurs an additional cost, whereas with the hand crank charger, there is no need to buy anything more for it to work.
Services & Downloads
There are many other accessories for your phone that can be downloaded or purchased in addition to your cell phone plan. For fun, there are dozens of games available for most cell phones, ranging from poker, solitaire and puzzle games to driving, shooting, strategy and adventure games. There's also many additional items available to personalize and customize your cell phone to make it reflect your personality and tastes, like ringtones, wallpaper and screensavers.
In addition to these, you can customize your cell phone to automatically bring you relevant news, maps, restaurant reviews, theater listings, horoscopes, weather, sports scores and much more. Pretty much anything you can get on the web, you can also access through most cell phones.
Well-Designed Cell Phone Accessories

CECT Cell Phones and Data Packages – Getting Online Cheaply With the iPhone Clones
One of the more common discussions that I hear about the clones are concerns about getting online or obtaining data usage in order to be able to browse the web. This is one of the most popular features on these phones as the very large screen and the finger touch browsing make surfing the Internet very easy and user friendly.
Sometimes, I have people who think that you can surf away for free with these phones. While these phones cost much less to buy and use than the actual iPhone, you do need data usage or a data package to be able to use the Internet. However, this can be very inexpensive and most carriers have several different options. I will discuss this more in the following article.
You Need GSM Data Usage For One Of Your Sim Slots To Get Online: Most of these replicas have dual sim slots. And, you can use any combination of applicable cards for the phone. In other words, you can have an AT&T sim and a T Mobile sim working on the same phone at the same time. Why would you want to do this? Because you might have one number or account for business and one for home. Or, you may have one main number that you have a plan with but you want to use a cheaper pre paid card for data, talk, text (or all three) when you're making calls rather than receiving them. All that is really required is that you're using an activated, up to date, and working GSM sim card.
And, if you're wanting to surf the web, you will need data on one of these cards (you don't need to have it on both) in order to be successful. (Note: you don't always necessarily need data if you're using one of the WiFi clones. But if hot spots aren't available, the WiFi may not always work.)
Data Options On Popular GSM Carriers: Many GSM carriers will make data available on almost all of their plans, including pay as you go or pre paid. For example, if you're using AT&T's GoPhone, you can currently use the web as you like (without signing up for anything) and.01 per KB of usage will be deducted from your funds. You can also buy more data as part of a feature package. Currently 1MB of data goes for $4.99 (and lasts for 30 days) and the price goes up from there depending on how much data you are buying.
What Is Sometimes The Cheapest Way To Get Data For The iPhone Clones: If you don't need to be on the web all of the time, the features packages might be more than enough. But, if you have a situation where you're going to online a lot or know that you're going to need more access than normal (so that you're going to go through that $4.99 very quickly) it's sometimes cheaper to get one of the throw away pre paid sim cards that run out after 30 days.
What's often really nice about these cards is that, in addition to unlimited data, they often also include unlimited talk and text and are often quite inexpensive. Since you have two sim cards, you won't need to lose your number or plan. Your friends and family can still call and text you on your regular number, but when you make the calls and texts, you can use the unlimited card in the other slot so that you aren't burning through your more expensive data, texts, and talk time. And, when the 30 days runs out, you either throw it away and go back to your regular sim or buy another if that's what you need at that time. That's one of the advantages of these clones. You decide what you need and when and then pay for that need only. And since you have two slots, you never need to lose your number.
Mobile Monopoly and the Mobile Advertising Potential
If you want to learn how to tap into the huge potential that is Mobile Advertising then you may want to keep an eye out for a product called "Mobile Monopoly" which is launching August 3rd, 2010. Why is that?
Well for starters, did you know that there are roughly 5 times more cell phone users than there are Internet users? That's right! You heard me! There are over 5 billion people walking around right now that have cell phones glued to their head or in their pocket just waiting to be advertised to!
Cell phone users aren't your typical "Joe" either. They're comprised of a group of consumers that consume at a very high rate! This means that you're that much more likely to profit from a Mobile Advertising campaign.
Another plus is that there is still not too much competition advertising on mobile cell phones. Since Mobile Advertising is still in it's infancy, it's much easier for you and I to take advantage of this and get in while the gettin' is good if you know what I mean. Even when Mobile Advertising becomes more mainstream, the early adopters like us will have an edge because we will have known the ropes for years already. Not too long from now it'll be absolutely crucial for a business on-line or off-line to be advertising on cell phones.
This is why I'm interested in the upcoming launch of Mobile Monopoly. Adam Horwitz promises to reveal exactly how he made over $15,367 per month JUST on mobile phones. How can we help but be a little curious? Good thing we won't have to wait long.
Danger! Cell Phones and Young Children
What possible good can come from a nine to thirteen year old adolescent having a cell phone? With so many child predators out there these days giving your child a cell phone is giving these people another means of contacting and preying on innocent children. Or is it?
Could a cell phone in a child's hand help to prevent a would be attacker from taking advantage of a situation? Think about it. If your child had a cell phone they would be able to call you or the police with the push of just one button. If it became the norm for children at this vulnerable age to carry cell phones, then child predators would think twice before going after any of them. They wouldn't know who does or does not have a cell phone at the ready in case of an emergency.
But that wouldn't stop them from getting the child's cell phone number and calling to him or her. Just like children in chat rooms, they would become victims without ever getting suspicious until it's too late. Since anyone can use caller ID blocking there is no way of knowing who is calling your kid when you aren't with them. Or is there a way to control all of this?
What if there was a cell phone that your child could use to call mom, dad, or the police very quickly. What if you could control who your child could call with their cell phone and who was able to call them? If you could program a cell phone to only dial numbers that you approved first and only accepted incoming calls from numbers that you programmed into it, would you consider having your child carry this phone?
Think about it. Because of some fiasco at work you realized that you were going to be a little late picking up your son or daughter from practice, it would be a load off your child's mind to know that you are on your way. If they ended up getting detention at school and would be late getting out, wouldn't it be nice to know before you had to wait 30 minutes outside of the school worrying your head off about where he or she is?
There is a phone that is designed for exactly this purpose. It is the FireFly(TM). It has just six buttons. One for Mom, one for Dad, one for emergency services (with accidental call prevention), two to scroll up and down pre-programmed numbers, and a call start/end button. Since this phone does not have games or text messaging you don't have to worry about all those extra charges getting added to your phone bill. Simply program the numbers for mom and dad into the phone, and any numbers that you approve of into the calling/receiving list, and tell them to have it with them at all times.
The FireFly(TM) is becoming available for most carriers. Compare rates from different carriers to see which ones are available in your area and find the best deal. Invest in some peace of mind for yourself and a learning experience for your child.
Unlocked Cell Phones – What Does it Mean?
Everyone's talking about unlocked cell phones, but no one is taking the time to explain exactly what it means. Here are a few basic points about the subject:
Why should you unlock mobile phones?
In general, there are two main types of cell phones, GSM and CDMA, each compatible to different frequency ranges. When GSM compatible phones come out of the factory, they can be used under any GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile etc.) around the world using a SIM card.
However, mobile carriers usually choose to lock these settings, so that they don't work with other carriers and customers can't simply change carriers at will. They then offer cheap phones in return for a long term commitment to a service plan. Unlocking mobile phones sometimes enables the customer to reverse the lock settings and to use their device with other GSM carriers. Another way is to buy the phone in its original state, already unlocked.
Can you use cell phone unlock codes that you can find over the internet?
Unlock codes found over the internet could either be worthless or harmful to your device as propriety setting may still remain on the phone, so it's usually best to simply leave it to professionals.
And what about CDMA phones?
As CDMA phones don't use SIM cards, at present unlocked CDMA cell-phones is only a concept and they are pretty much programmed to work only under their assigned carrier. But as technology keeps changing, it may still be possible in the future.
Cell Phones Can Damage Your Eyes
A recent scientific study identified a link between microwave radiation of the kind emitted by cellular phones and two different kinds of damage to the eye. At least one type of damage apparently never heals.
When the eyeis exposed for a prolonged time to microwave radiation, thereis large-scale damage to the optical quality of the lens. But there seemed to be a maximum level to this kind of damage, and when the exposure stops, the damage begins to heal.
However, at the same time, a different kind of damage occurs at the microscopic level. Tiny "bubbles" appear on the surface of the lens. This kind of damage reaches no maximum level, but instead accumulates progressively, and it did not heal even after the experiment stopped. It was theorized that the bubbles were caused by friction between cellsthat were exposed to the radiation.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:
Electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation from cell phones is a topic that provokes a good deal of controversy. Many experts believe that the radiation is too low-level to cause harm. However, they often base this on an examination of thermal or heat-related effects. The danger from cell phones is far more likely to originate in the low-intensity pulsed microwave radiation that the phones emit.
There is a growing body of evidence that long-term exposure to this kind of cell phone radiation can indeed be a danger. As well as these studies showing they can affect the sensitive cells of your eyes, there has been research indicating that it can cause: Brain cancer Tumor growth on the auditory nerve Possibly Alzheimer's disease Many other potential problems
Fortunately, the danger decreases exponentially the farther the cell phone is from your body. If you have a cell phone, I strongly recommend you use a headset, and keep the phone itself well away from your body.
Although that reduces the radiation risk considerably, some emissions can still travel up the headset wire and into the head. Probably the best solution is to get a cell phone with a good speaker phone and always use it. Keeping the phone as far away from your body is the ideal solution.
For many of you this is simply not very practical, so I recommend attaching the newair cell phone headsets that we have just introduced. If you use a cell phone without the speaker phone feature, then this is simply a must. There is no excuse to not use this technology, which virtually eliminates all the dangers of using a cell phone.
There are also, of course, more commonplace dangers to using cell phones. If you use one while driving your car, you increase your chance of having an accident by up to 400 percent. Worldwide, auto accidents account for 23 percentof all deaths from injury, which comes to over1 million deaths each year. At the same time, cancer, another deadly cell phone risk, has surpassed heart disease in America as the leading cause of death for those under 85. Itkills over 1,500 people every day in the United Statesalone.
Every year, more and more people are switching to cell phones. Many are now using cell phones as their only phone, especially among younger people, who could be exposing themselves to EMF radiation and other risks over a period of decades.
Please avoid having yourself become a statistic. If you use a cell phone at all, wear a headset with a ferrite bead, don't use the cell phone in the car, and in general try to minimize your cell phone use. Closely Analyzing the Trendy Cell Phone Accessories is Beneficial For You
With the increasing demand of the cellular phones, people have started getting attracted to the wide range of accessories available in the present day market. The recent research has shown that the number of cell phone accessory consumers has increased at least ten times more. Various mobile phone developers have shown innovative ideas while launching accessories. Earlier the cell phones were simply meant to attend the calls but with the addition of accessories to it, the features are getting complicated as well as advanced.
There are a variety of accessories adorning an iPhone. Some of the basic iPhone accessories can be summarized as:
Bluetooth: It supports the rate of file transfer between cellular phones lying within a particular range.
Memory card- It is used as an additional memory backup in your cell phone. It provides you with an opportunity to expand the storage capacity of your phone.
Headphone: It is meant for all music fans. It allows you to listen to music, at anytime and at anyplace.
Mobile phone cases- It is generally used to avoid the scuffs and scratches which can damage your delicate mobile phone body.
Mobile chargers: The wireless charges as well as the chargers without the wireless facility possess different charging capacity. They are crafted in such a manner that will prevent your batteries from getting overcharged.
So, these were the common accessories that your phone uses everyday. You all must be well-familiar with them. Although, these trendy looking accessories adorn your cell with extra features, yet, they can adversely affect the working capacity of a cellular phone, if you do not install them rightfully.
In order to extend your cell phone life, you need to be extra careful while choosing your cell phone accessories. These tips will guide you through the process of purchasing a cell phone accessory.
1. Before purchasing an accessory, make sure that you actually require it. Don't overload your cellular phone just because others are doing it.
2. Always purchase your stuffs from an eminent retail outlet. Beware of pirated, low-priced stuff. It generally comes without a warranty.
3. Check out the other stores for a second opinion. Do not buy all the accessories in one go.
4. If you are carrying out an online transaction, ensure safe delivery, secured money transaction and durability of the product purchased by personally contacting your retailer.
5. Ask your friends for a second opinion.
6. Do not purchase any item which is being sold openly, without a receipt, in the market.
These were some common examples where you can monitor the functioning of your cell phone accessories. I am sure you will consider these points before setting out in the market. Mmmm!
The Future of Mobile Phone Accessories Will Blow You Away
Cell Phone Technology has been advancing at an alarming rate to the happiness of mobile phone users. Each quarter there are new models of phones and new features entering the market. This month Google has launched their new mobile phones with all the GPS Google capability and mapping software. You'll never be lost again in urban or rural America. We all knew the day was coming but these new features are pretty incredible indeed.
It is believed that cell phones in the future will have a special substance that will stick to your skin and therefore your cell phone will not need an accessory holder to clip onto your belt.
It will adhere to any bare skin it is attached to and easily peel off when you press the button, which is done thru tiny Velcro like hooks and nanotech bonding. Of course, this is only one cell phone accessory of the future.
